But as we grow, and the more friends we make, and the more experience we gain, we grow into stronger people. Bullies suck (I've been a victim to a few when I was younger). This episode was super endearing and super sweet. You win with guts, resolve, and weighing probability (for those at home). It combines a card game, gem collecting, and a game of chicken. I gotta say, the artwork on the cards looks pretty sweet. Incan Gold is the game of the week this week. Those moments felt organic, whereas this whole "retreat or hope that RNG doesn't screw me on the next card flop" thing was just way, way too on-the-nose and over-dramatized. The rug merchant game had a lot of planning involved, and was a good way for Miki to poke out of her shell, and then the bullshit-like card game last week was a fun way to show off Miki's insight as well as the other casts' quirks. This one felt like it was trying too hard with the emotional and character moments, and while some of that (the flashbacks) were interesting, I don't like how it was woven into a game with such little strategy. Show is still cute, but I liked the first two episodes better. I have a soft spot when it comes to cats. I still might have teared up a little when the cat put her head on Miki's foot. I appreciate what the anime is trying to say, I just don't like how it's saying it. I get that it's heavy-handed symbolism, but all this drama over this game is really forced. Her rings seem to change which fingers (and even which hand) they're on depending on the shot. Oh of course random cat-owner in distress is going to be related to one of the main girls. This is at least the second cat whisperer Tipton has played this year, after My Roommate is a Cat's Nana.Ĭat's all like "Yeah fuck off, human, I'm going to do my own thing and hide behind this curtain." Seems accurate.
